Canon launched the latest series of compact cameras is the Canon G-series PowerShot G12, which is intended for backup camera for DSLR camera users or users who want a camera with the same quality camera with digital SLR cameras.

Canon Powershot G12 using 10 megapixel sensor with DIGIC 4 processor with iSAPS technology similar to that applied to the Canon DSLR her. Equipped also with a 461,000 pixel 2.8-inch screen that can be folded so as to facilitate pengampilan images in the extreme corners. This camera is equipped with a 5x zoom lens (equivalent 28-140mm) with IS Hibryd suitable for capturing everyday moments. Equipped also with optical viewfinder, speed continuous shooting of 4.2fps, flash hotshoe, 1cm macro mode, ISO 80-3200, and various shooting modes including manual. Features the most recent of these G-series with the ability to capture 720p HD video. Canon has also added features High Dynamic Range mode, SDXC card compatibility and an optional Lens Filter Adapter.
